Somalis are human beings and as such there are some Somali prostitutes. However, given our culture we are not that promiscuous as many other societies; for instance Thais and several African societies. Generally, I don’t think someone subjects his/her body for the sake of pleasure. They do this because of monetary gain to quench momentary lapse in purchasing power. I don’t know where you got the notion that there is often a psychological factor! You could have scored a major point had you mentioned temporary biological desires, experimenting . Hitherto, your hypothesis can be discarded on its merits.

Are you from Kenya? Nairobi? If you are then, you may note that promiscuity is more rampant among other societies. If you have met a prostitute in Nairobi, the underlying reason is poverty .

When I was in Dire Dawa and Jijiga I was staying in a posh hotel [African standards], and it was full of prostitutes. Some high class prostitutes as well..
