Baron Davis' best years are behind him in Golden State, Melo never got the memo about playing both sides of the court and can't guard his own shadow, Amare has the knees and back of a middle-aged woman in a 3rd world country, Tyson Chandler is the only one that actually plays defense but has no offensive game whatsoever and couldn't throw a rock in the ocean...they're a 5th seed at best (6th if NJ gets D12 like the rumours say). If the Knicks wanna compete for rings, they gotta get rid of Mike D'Antoni and replace him with a coach who understands that defense wins championships, cuz every team D'Antoni's coached has been ranked 20th or worse defensively.

Melo and Amare are gonna put up points, but your defensive strategy can't be to outscore your opponent, especially in the Eastern conference where teams like the Bulls, Celtics and Heat play suffocating D in the playoffs.

Most important position when it comes to team defense, is post D. We got an athletic defensive big, those can turn teams defenses around. Amare gets to move back to his natural position and doesn't have to guard Centers anymore. Knicks are definitely not going to be a joke defensively this season. Last year all those points we are giving up was because we had no post D. Not anymore. Also shores up our rebounding. This signing alone makes the Knicks Eastern Conference finalists

Baron Davis is just a possibility, but its a temporary one year thing anyway. Steve Nash is getting signed next season, and if D'Antoni screws up, Phil Jackson will be the Knicks coach in 2012.

All I know is My Knicks are the biggest retards on earth, and I know why they will never win a championship. These dumbasses coul'dve done the following:


Trade Amare for Dwight
Keep Billups this year


A team of billups/dwight howard/carmelo would have a great shot at a title THIS year, and adding chris paul in the summer with chauncy off the books would make them a perrenial contender. Instead these dumbasses amnesty billups, use ALL their caproom on Chandler who is a ROLE PLAYER and severely overpaid. Now they got NO PG, and no shot to add a decent one in free agency for the years to come. Idiots.



The thing is this whole bullshid about 'ohh small markets ohh small markets' is overrated. Bottom line is most teams in the NBA are STUPID and the GM's are nothing but HS degree wielding idiots who have no business running anything. The Lakers I give them credit they are great because they ALWAYS had sane people in their front office. With the Paul trade they would've been 20 mill off the cap next summer and can sign dwight straight up or force orlando's hand into accepting bynum. Stern had to intervene for all these bitch ass owners who were jealous, and knew that this was gonna be GAME OVER for the next ten years with the lakers. While I always hated the lakers, I believe in life man shold be rewarded for the work they put in, and hte Lakers shouldn't be penalized for smart front office decisions because they happen to be in a big market smh

What the hell are you talking about? The Magic would never do Amare for Dwight. They have no interest in Amare he has a big contract is 30 and has injury history and they wouldn't have anyone to team him up with.

You need to take a deep breath. There was no chance at CP3/Dwight in the offseason, couldn't sign them outright because of new CBA. Only way was a sign and trade. Amare for Paul would be a TERRIBLE deal. Orlando had no interest in Amare.

Chandler is a huge signing, the NBA is about defense, and a big defensive center changes this team around. Chandler aint no role player They signed Bibby still have Toney Douglas and are about to add either JJ Barea or Jamal Crawford. Billups was GARBAGE in D'Antonis system. This is a great deal and the Knicks will be contending this year. Soon you will realize how huge Chandler's impact is.
