Which 20%? If you mean the diaspora, I would say that they are "content" with the status quo, but they do want peace in Somalia. The diaspora doesn't really need to worry about bullets tearing into their flesh or starvation from famine, so they aren't in any urgent rush to fix shit back home. They may occasionally sponsor some random "bla bla bla land" regional tribal administration, but that's only because they want an "Islamic environment" to dump their rowdy kids in and perhaps retire to in old age, but they aren't seriously invested in a lasting solution to the national crisis. The 20% that remains in Somalia and is sustained by remittances, they are not content with the situation and are envious of their relations in the West who they believe to live luxury and affluence, thus they spend most of their time trying to find a way to emigrate rather than fixing up their situation domestically.Jaidi wrote:
Sounds accurate. But the logic of the 20 percent is a bit delusional don't you think? They believe the status quo is fine and sustainable when in reality its a burning wreck. Even where there is stability a country ,who's primary source of revenue is handouts, surely can't be considered a desirable one
