I guess I am an evil man according to her, since I do believe in established gender roles and that God created men and women differently in accordance to their need. Do I believe men and women are equal in the eyes of God in terms of reward and punishment? Of course!
Grandpa...I hope she wouldnt consider you as such because that is backward.
I disagree with gender roles, I do not believe in staying at home etc because I am pretty gifted and would be watsed in the kitchen, like most girls I know. I kind of saw the confrontational side coming, but if you believe her points on rape are valid, you guys are on the same side. we do not all have to be identical in our practise of religion in order to respect that we are all Muslim or Somali. There is a difference between saying that the hijab is better than no hijab etc and
forcing women to wear it. I take huge issue with the latter. Also believing that an uncovered woman (no hijbab all the way to leggings and tops) is
deserving of rape is a sick idea. People who say that are pro rape. Imagine if your sister decided to dress differently, would you be happy if she got raped?
Nanees...this is what one or two Somalinetters have always been like...Things have changed, back in the day going to university would have got you a 'dh!llo' tag on this site
