Well I would suspect that atheism has been around since the first human being. I would assume that every civilization during any historical era had those who did not believe in God?

But kow if your an athiest than you must believe in a gradual evolving of into present day homo-homo-sapien and therefore no first human being. And if that is so, at what point did they develop the faculty to ponder on such thoughts, or debate amongst themselves for proofs or disproofs of god. I think your assuming a lot here.

There weren't no such thing called Atheism, it was only Polytheistic and Monotheistic faiths, plus they were all ended with a crucial punishment, be it the people of lot (pbuh), the people of Noah (Pbuh) who've received hell-like punishments for their behaviour and disbelief in God and their pledge to their statues.
