Speaking of food, I have a question to ask you, my neighbors daraato maxey sameyeen calooleey oo markaad 20ft ka mareysid gurigooda walle xafadii oo dhan maxaa u mooday in bosaneero warshad laga furay, so as a Somali do you think calooley should be made in homes, and let your neighbors deal with the stench ? or simply go to a resturant and buy it directly minus the trouble ? what spices could she have added to the equation to eliminate the smell ?

What is it with somalis and grains and beans. Barley, corn, sorghum, kidney beans, azuki beans etc. Don't we have vegetables back home?

Soor & plain yogurt. Only for sahoor during Ramadhan, apparently. Not sure why that is.

Cheese huh? Was it cold to the touch? Was it sweet?
I forget the name of the cheese I'm thinking of. It's also used in tirimasu.

No it wasn't sweet but it tasted like old cheese

Apparently it was expensive. My friend went of bragging about how much 500gr cheese is worth 100USD. And you have to order from some back alley in the Lombardy region, Italy. Probably bs, but the taste had me believe it
Edit: I could find out the name if you want.
