A conservative state with poor public institutions and a shit economy is not really the best place for immigrants to settle, especially war refugees with big families. The Midwest & Great Plains are the top choices because they have solid institutions, good finances, and a constant job surplus. Forget Somalis, even other Americans are moving to the Plains for work and cheap living. I don't think refugees really care about the weather or weekend barbecues.

He did a lot more than a single drug conviction to get banned by the state of Texas . Never trust a criminal I heard of people getting kicked out of cities and counties due to being always being in trouble and breaking laws and committing serious offences.

My dad went to college in Texas back in the day, he said the same thing too, they're friendly people and are not shy to express their feelings

Not just Texas, Somali men did that all over the country back in the 70s and 80s when their Visas ran out. After they would get their citizenship or green card or w/e, they would divorce these madow women and then marry Somali.

Some of my dad's closest friends had kids with madow women they were married to but sadly they aren't even apart of their kids lives. At my University, there was a guy I met who was half Somali, half Trinidadian. His dad (Somali) wasn't apart of his life at all and passed away some years ago, his mom became Muslim though and she raised him with her 2nd husband who is Moroccan.
