I would not kill the culprit but aid the authority in capturing him, a judge should then trial and convict him and hopefully it will be the death sentence. killing him myself is not a good idea, not because i am scared of people coming after me but because each subsequent reprisal killing will be partially my fault. there is Law breaker, and those who take laws into their own hands, both these types are bad for the society.

a family who got killed is emotional, but think of this analogy. Your brother's shop got rubbed, he could consult the authority or try to get back his money, but if he tries to get the money the thief could end up getting killed or killing your brother. it is the same thing with reprisal killing, your brother got killed and if you try to take the law into your own hands more people could get killed. It is not about Fulaynimo or Dhiigla'an, but it is about preventing the opening of a Pandora box, just like you can take a gun and kill someone, everyone else can do it, and it will lead to the collapse of society.

having said that, if the killer appeared in front of me i would not be able to control myself and in this case the fault would lie with the authority for failing to at the very least intimidate the killer, therefor subsequent killings would not be on my conscious. But i would agree to some form of punishment from the authority, because we all have obligation to prevent total anarchy even if it sometimes at our own expenses.
