TW...It was called Xamar jajab because it was one of the oldest/most ancient part of xamar, not some shanty town. Schole poliza aka the police academy, fardooley (where they kept the horses) and many other government entities were located there during peace time. Wonder if any of it is functioning or put to any use, today. Take/put up more pics of it, if you can!

Actually, I beg to differ. The oldest parts of Mogadishu are Xamar Weyn & Shangaani.

The Police Acadamy is open but am not sure about fardool & unfortunately I haven't taken any pictures of it.

Roving,

Were You able to visit Xamar Jadiid? How is it doing?

Wallahi I'm suprised at how clean the beaches in Xamar look, do they have some sort of cleaning authority?

I was actually born at Xamar-Jadiid/Cali Kamiin and so obviously, I visited it. The people are slowly returning to the area but the area towards the stadium is mostly a military zone and is home to AMISOM and the TFG forces

Regarding the beaches, I personally havent seen any cleaning, so I am assuming its naturally clean

Yea thats what I heard. Thats where my Dad/Mom lived but they sold the place in 2005 for a good sum to some HG dude. Turned out sadly for Him the entire area Where He lived was razed to the ground. Ethiopians would routinely search, use houses there for shelter supplies it became a mess. Sad cuz I heard it was one of the best neighborhoods there

Btw how far is Ceelasha Biyaha from Xamar and are Shabab still there?

Luckily for him, in Mogadishu it's the land that's the real value so even without the actual building standing, he should be able to fetch a good deal.

Ceelasha is only a bus ride away. Yes, Shabab is there but they have removed their main weapons & are on the Defence there.
