Never thought Somali farax would be rapping side by side with one of the greatest rappers of all time if not the greatest of all time. Cajjib

i wouldn't call Nas the g.o.a.t, his good to bad album ratio is like 2:10 or something...no consistency. nothing tops Illmatic though

It Was Written was my fav. Nas has always been my favourite, but I don't think he's the best.
This song though? Meh. Started out nicely, but K'Naan's first verse was pretty weak. Then it changed to some sesame street tune, as usual.

The hook ruins the song and he's being way too commercializedAlphanumeric wrote:It Was Written was my fav. Nas has always been my favourite, but I don't think he's the best.

there's still a shitload of crap in his discog which would disqualify him like Nastradamus.FAH1223 wrote:It Was Written was a classicKeyblade wrote:i wouldn't call Nas the g.o.a.t, his good to bad album ratio is like 2:10 or something...no consistency. nothing tops Illmatic though.

Nastradamus isn't even a bad album, neither is I Am.
But yeah that was the low point of his career by far
You didn't like Street's Disciple? or Hip Hop is Dead?

I found most of his stuff post 96 to be repetitive and without substance. But his style, lyricism, rhyme scheme, etc? Still one of the best.

Re: K'Naan drops a new video with Nasty NaS
I think the reason why his material post 96 lacked substance was because he ditched everything that made him great(his style, lyricism, rhyme scheme, etc )...for the most part.Alphanumeric wrote:I found most of his stuff post 96 to be repetitive and without substance. Hmm, when i referred to substance, I referred to his stories, material, attitude. I haven't listened to him as much as I used to, in years. Still going through some songs.
