Did you know that because of him, Somali expatriates have been running the government since he was elected. Over 90% of Sharif gov officials from PMs to Mogadishu Mayor and defense minister are repatriates. If his gov failed it is not him but diaspora ppl.

Did you know that Sheik Sharif listens and tries to reason with his opponents? He is now working with everyone who has stake in Somalia for the better, even if that jeopardizes his job. Thanks to him and many others, life is coming back to Somalia.

Ppl don't know much about Sharif in part because he is not a loud person, his immediate tribesmen are very civilized and don't carry around his name or agenda, and a lot of ppl hate him for tribal, etc reasons.

Who failed us? The list is very long and he is not in the top ten.

He is the head of a failed state which continues to fail by the day. Giving some cash opportunites to some mentally retarded so-called diaspora does not wash him. Actually, giving job opportunites to those failed in their lives abroad or had lived in comfort in Europe and America is an insult to the Somalis back home. And the word diaspora is being devalued by the somalis by the day. Give me a break.

I do not have to know him personally, but I followed his ''presidency'' closely and even attended the meetings in London. Boy, the guy has no idea what it meant to be a president for a country. I just came home disappointed even more.

I would have sillanayo as the head of Somali state at anytime than alsharif. Except that siilaanyo is a traitor, so is alsharaif ( to some extend).

Chucke chuckle....you said ''90%'' of his current office holders are diaspora? which means more than 2 PMs. So what did these ''university educated'' diaspora have been in the past 20 years and so? and since when having US or British Degree qualifed somebody to hold an office in Somalia? and what have they done so far? so that means he did not know how to choice the right people for the posts? and this this one of his very fisrt failure.
