There are no pipelines or other important infrastructure in place yet, how are they going to export the oil? Also, Bosaso port is not a deep sea port and can not hold huge oil tankers.

Investment comes after their is discovery. You mustn't forget that Puntland is also part of Somalia, and it has a resource sharing of 50% of the profits to the federal state. So the infrastructure will come afterwards.

Insha'Allah, Somali has more than enough fertile land to export food let alone feed it's population. It just needs proper investment.

But what we need more than oil right now, is proper leadership, honest people with real foresight.

I absolutely hate seeing our people starve in this modern era and I absolutely hate our people living in the world largest rafugee camps, dying at seas just to escape from misery at home and ending up begging in the streets of foreign countries, I hate how our youths in the west are ashamed to identify with their ethnicity and country because of our man-made problems in Somalia. Very eloquently said Advo. Runtii waxaan ka dareemi karaa inaad tahay nin jecel wadankiisa iyo dadkiisa,. Inshalah mugdiga waan ka baxii. Somalia will be the fastest growing economy in Africa and every nation/people who mocked us will be amazed at our transformation and the Somalis will have the last laugh. Inshalah!

Finding the oil is the easy bit , now we must prepare the political landscape to make sure the Somali people derive greatest possible benefit.

I fear the Somali Road map, spawned during London conference, will shackle our hands before we are able to develop any safeguards.
The country`s revenues, maritime/airspace, security, borders will be in the hands of foreigners. Somali interests will be subordinate to corporate interests.

The best thing Somalis can do is to build a political consensus encompassing every region. In order to guarantee our position we must be united in the face of foreign capital.
We must have a national strategy coordinated throughout the regions and abandon the petty tribal positions. There is wealth enough for everyone if we are organised properly.
