Re: Atlanta, Georgia. What's there to do?
Lama - Suuqa Mijiiska is no more, man. It's a settled neighborhood.
I was there in '06. Orientationka, Ceel Ibraahim, etc are all resettled again.
I think you guys were closer to Baar Ubax?

That are was my hood saaxib. When I was a kid I used to watch the pill throwing tournament near suuqa mijiska; old men used to shoot pills at shoes.
No, Baar ubax waxaa deganaa reer koraadka. The line of divide ran through hotel olympic/foto sawaaxili.
Our house was near suuqa mijiska (dhinaca wadada ka timaado dabka) and it was occupied by moryaans.
Re: Atlanta, Georgia. What's there to do?
Lama - it's funny you mention the men throwing pills at shoes, I was talking about it with someone not too long ago. In the evenings when the market became quite and near empty, I remember men used to gather around and throw pills, shoot arrows, etc. My brothers and I used to watch it & stay there until it was almost maghrib. It was a good life. Watarka ma xasuusataa? Where they used to make water proof shoes near Howlwadaag orientation? Dugsi hoose dhexe xagee dhigatay? I went to General Da'ud.

Memory lane indeed, bro.
Bacaadka orientationka iyo iskoolka howlwadaag u dhaxeeyay weligaa banooni ma ku ciyaarteen? You ain't no ciyaalka xaafada if you didn't.
Waraa, ma taqaanaa Reer Xassan Hiraab? They lived on the other side of miijiska towards Baar Peking. Their son is in my city and also went to Cismaan Raage sare.

Re: Atlanta, Georgia. What's there to do?
Lama - Yes, I know the people you're talking about. They were Murusade. Maqaayada waan xasuustaa, kutuleeti khatar ah ee gadi jireen. Jalaato qori waa xasuustaa. My grandmother lived on the other side of suuqa - towards Sayidka & Otto-Otto. Degaandaga Cali Caliyoow inta aadan gaarin, abeenadaa Sayidka ka soo degtid, jidka ugu horeeyo ayee daganeed. Adinka waxaa jirteen dhinaca farmashiye Cariif (my late mother's abti). Historic neighborhood. Thanks for the memories, man.
Daf - I went there from '88-'90. I was in 8th grade when the war happened. Initially, I wanted to go to Maxamuud Mire for their Arabic curriculum, but decided against it last minute. There was also Primo Lulio that had changed to Arabic curriculum instead of standard Somali.
