Than you're in for a treat.
Did you watch Guyver?
No, but I'll add it to the list.

1.
Dragonball Z
I rated this top 1st because I grew up with it as a child, I would go for as to say it contributed to who I am today. Goku taught me to never give up and always believe in yourself despite the odds, to remain cheerful despite the horrible circumstances and to be a better father. Gohan taught me to be humble, kind caring despite your awesome power and that a child's innocence should not be deterred. Unfortunately this anime started going to shit post-Cell era. Vegeta taught me to be proud of your ancestors, to value your kind and to persevere even if its an outward arrogance. The anime has superb storyline, music, voice acting (dubbed).
Pretty much summed up my childhood.

As a kid, my favorite animes were Tenchi Muyo! and Tenchi Universe , but not Tenchi in Tokyo because that Sakuya bitch was super annoying. I also liked YuYu Hakusho, Gundam Wing, and Samurai Champloo, and I hated Inuyasha. Lord, both Kagome and Inuyasha were irredeemable, horrible characters. I also watched Clannad after someone told me that it's delightfully depressing, but I literally could not give a fuck about the plot mainly because I disliked both of the main characters, particularly the girl.
And I think I liked Fooly Cooly...? Though, I'm pretty sure that I didn't understand it.
The really fluffy part of me likes Peach Girl (haha, god I feel like a thirteen year old) and Wallflower (haha).
And since I have four days of down time, I think that I may marathon Nana, and either Code Geass (at my brother's suggestion) or Elfen Lied (so I can spoil it for him).

For me it's DBZ for the reasons grandpa listed (the anime technically speaking isn't amazing, and the 2 hour stare-downs and 5 episode kamehameha charges can get annoying).
Then it's Full Metal Alchemist + Brotherhood, both manga and anime are amazing. Maybe Death Note after that, then I stop caring for anime. Used to like Naruto, but got annoyed with the shameless story extension and stopped reading at like ch.620. Don't get me started on Bleach, I think it's complete shit after the first 30 or so episodes.

Nobody here watched anime movies or something?
At least show some respect to Hayao Miyazaki and his incredible work.

I just never understood Inuyasha. I was like, "Bruh, what are you doing? Aren't you like some magical demon? The fuck are you doin' chasing some stupid 15 year old bitch?"
Also, shut-up. Peach Girl taught me about L-O-V-E.
