well, if you dont grow up the country, you only learn what you hear from people around you. honestly i can make sense northern somali cause that what got use it but southerns is hard to understand. dagteyda ma barin.

True, we are a product of our environment and here is where parental responsibility comes in. Our people think other languages are superior to our language and I think this is wrong.

lol@lama. there was many jokes that somali old man or woman says: ameen , to some one speaks arabic.lol
i do know what you mean lama. my folks are the ones being : 7er, so the only language they knew how to write and read and education language was arabic. so somaliga in genenal. my folks call it " war wahan latinka"

i laugh when my dad calls , latin referring the somali written . and my dad is not even that old.lol

back to the topic; many people including my grandpa wanted somali to be written in arabic instead current latin! i guess cause that is only alphabet they knew. i would rather that myself.

The problem with the southerners is that they even misuse the italian words.

lol salool. i noticed that but i let it slide cause it was close enough. i smiled at "Qaanad" tho instead khaanah/khaanad. some somalies, mix kha and qa.
