there are poeple strogly trying to undermine any gov afforts to reclaim its
old properties, shariif and co are already exhausted and reclaimed less than 5%,

those who are living in looted civilian houses have already made their own fake ownership peppers ,it 'll take years and lot of energy to evict them.

Some people have documents, others were well known and former neighbors would testify. I believe muqdisho suffered the most because people tried to xalaalize their lootings however since law, order and a sense of normalcy is slowly but gradually returning now so will properties to their rightful owners, period. There will be no discussion specially with occupiers about how the person who originally build those houses/villas from ground up acquired his/her currency. zero. I will say this though, there's nothing better than a person who returns home and discovers a single mother with her children now taking refuge in his former home and just gives it to them for the sake of Allah. People might have been chased out with absolute no certainty of their future but Allah made it possible that we immigrated to the west and made something out of nothing.

Then this must have been the case in every little town in south Somalia. If its karma you talk about meel ee dhafte malahan markas.

I think this issue must be handed sensitively. I agree looted properties must be returned in principle, however, there are 1000s of farmers from up country who have been driven off their lands and have moved to xamar in order to feed their families.

Justice must be for all Somalis, not just those with multiple homes in xamar.

superficial promises wont go a long way, no one fears the corrupted TFG, if this was Al-Shabaab the looters would run for their lives, but we are talking about a President who even himself live in looted property, his cousins live in looted properties and a good amount probably 50% of his clansmen live in looted property, as far as property theft is concerned whatever Sharif and the TFG promises should be taken with a pinch of salt.

BTW: what about those who had to pay the looters to leave, or those who lost lives to the looters ? either whiles visiting their home or defending it, will they be compensated ??? what about the last 20 years of forced occupation without any rent being payed ?? what about damages to the property itself. etc etc.

we are talking about hundred of thousands of houses here, a simple "ow you can return now" wont cut it I'm afraid.

Most of those houses were looted by the oppressive regime in the first place.

Any house that was looted by the regime giving to its staunch supporters, clan soldiers etc were infact part of the warbooty which was giving to mujahidiinta usc.


However iam talking about houses of dooros who hated the oppressive regime.

Giving back properties to their rightful owners is more difficult than yall think. For shaikh shariif to do this, He'd first need to have all the papers and documents from the former government(MSB government) that show and prove who owns what unless the individual who is trying to get back his land has documents as well. You can't simply give people houses because they say it's mine. it don't work like dat.

There must some law that says if a house has been vacant for a long period of time then the rightful owners forfeit their property?

I am sure people in Muqdisho know who lived where and what house, but what about properties that were demolished during the war and people rebuild it, do they still have to leave? or will they get their money back before they move?

Even if people don't have papers, neighbours can testify who they are. My immediate family member who did not even go to Mogadishu got her villa back because of the neighbours who knew her.

Sheikh Sharif has also made it clear that Mogadishu is the capital for all Somalis. This is what any Somali statesman should say, and all Somalis need to take a page and move on.

sheik sharif just shot himself in the foot. Even shababs lost considerable support when they hinted they will force ppl out of looted houses. This is a very touchy subject and many ppl will see you as the enemy as soon as you talk about this issue.

My nan came back today and she was telling my mum about a house for sale which the owners came back for, i asked if they faced any problem and she said none, all they did was talk to my my mum uncle who lived next door, he gave them information on the history of the house and just like that they put it up for sale, its in Siinaay, so I say hadee xolo ka maqanyihin go and get amiikale meshan ka caaytama.
