If you go to a top 10 school with an incredibly impressive alumni network, any degree is a "real degree".

It depends really..
I did mine a while back and it was 'sort of' worth it.. The pay wasn't much higher ruunti but it did help me become more specialised in my field..

unfortunately there is no choice in my line of work.
in order to get immediate access to the required technology its essential to complete a MSc.
Otherwise you could spend years making tea and carrying bags around a field

So I `d say it depends on then occupation you choose to pursue.

Bachelor degrees are the new high school diplomas. It doesn't even matter what field you study.

It is necessary in this day and age to get a Masters degree or you won't stand out. It is very competitive out there.

You also need a good few years of experience too.

In my experience, any grad degree doesn't give you an advantage unless you have a few years of job experience in that specific field. The best thing to do is get your 1st degree, work for 3-5 years and go back to school.

The problem with education is the rush for degrees, for recognition sake. We come out of school with multiple degrees in pointless fields, not really knowing what to do with them, or if they even have real world application. Most dudes around me are getting degrees to chase this new Arab dream, of teaching English overseas. Already know a handful of dudes out there. Best of luck to em, but I wonder how long they'll last in a foreign land.

Awoowo macaan it also depends on which degree grade one got and the course itself.. Most folks I see around have useless degrees such as drama etc.. Unless they are planning to fellow it up with a postgrad course like pgce I highly doubt they'll leave that basement..

Plus a decent number of students on my postgrad course didnt even have a first degree yet they were more knowlegdeable than the ones with a first degree and a bit of experience
