abayo you put yourself in this position. who told you to date for 5 years much less date a man you know your parents would never approve of? the biggest mistake you can ever make is to run off with him because disobeying your family in this manner will only lead to worse things happening to you. what if this guy mistreats you? who will you turn to then? your parents are not only your parents, they are there to protect you. once you disobey them, you're all on your own and you leave yourself open for mistreatment.

if the choice is between some guy and your family, pick your family. there are billions of men in the world and you will find "love" again.

This is the 21st century, your dad can't just decide your life. People have to find their own happiness in this world, if you live for your parents you are not doing anyone any favors.

If you're really scared that your dad will try and kill you, buy a can of bear spray.

Woah, dude. We are NOT the type to do honor killings. She'll be fine.

You never know what the actual situation is, I mean people go crazy over things like this even in quite laid back countries like Denmark or Australia.

It was narrated that Abu Moosa said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "There is no marriage without a guardian."

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1101; Abu Dawood, 2085; Ibn Maajah, 1881. Classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 1/318)
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "There is no valid marriage without a wali and two witnesses."

(Narrated by Ahmad)
Know that if you get married without your father's approval then you'll be committing zina every night.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But, I'm saying Somalis don't do this honor killing that you see Afghans, Pakistans etc do.

Sidenote: The famous James Dahl replied to me
