It was not Shabab that attacked the prison

You must've misread my friend. I said if they can't defend against a contingent, how do they aim to defeat alshabab? I'm highlighting their weakness. :|

TFG isn't really a Government and theere not the ones that defeated Shabab. It was AMISOM who did so.

Alshabb has not been defeated entirely. N second, you're still not understanding me. Who do AMISON protect? do they work separate from the TFG?

Actually I was talking about Mogadishu specifically. Being that Mogadishu is the Capital, its most important as far as whoever controls that town pretty much controls Somalia and today AMISOM/TFG control it. The point I was making is that when the concept of a Transitional Federal Government was brought up, the goal was that the TFG would gain strength, capability and professionalism towards the end of the transition to basically be able to handle all the security and administrative tasks in the city. Unfortunately they've been a horrible dissapointment and AMISOM in addition to providing the military muscle Has to also wear a Government hat that they wern't supposed to wear.

Case in point You had a 'PM' who engaged in petty qabiil squabbles in having innocent people jailed because of qabiil, so the reaction that the other clan would take is gonna be obvious. You cannot expect AMISOM to get involved in every nonsense when they are the ones guarding the airport, port, statehouse, ministry buildings, bakaara market, major roads, etc. If anything I think they've done a impressive job as it is.

I hear ya bro. all I was saying was the TFG are pretty weak and you seem to accede with me on that. Let's picture this; remove amison out of muqdisho, numerically, how significant are the somali/tfg army? Also how equipped and trained are they? I don't follow somali politics much.

Bro there is no such thing as TFG army or institutions. Think of them as simply tour guides for AMISOM, and Ethiopia in Bay/Bakool now. Somaia is still divided along clan lines and there really a standing army. You have clan militias, but no real army.

wallahi this is saddening. ninyahoow somalia waa meel habaaran. maxaan meel gaarnaa qabiil baa qiil la'isku laayo laga dhigtay. TFG needs to step it's game up or just sit their asses down. Every nigga that's put in those positions has qabiil agendas in the pockets. This has to stop. wallahi I'd rather see a 3million somalis that are free of cuqdad and qabiil that will come together to build a state for themselves than 20 million somalis whose brains are so filled with cuqdad iyo qabiil that they got no spot left to reason or to think rationally.

I agree. Numbers is nothing, look at Djibouti. They are 1/20th the size of us yet command much more influence and respect in the region and continent than Somalia. Heck they are even peacekeeping in our Country

We're definitely in a pretty pathetic state but You never know what the future holds marka You gotta be positive

 I am as optimistic as one can be. but I've been disappointed countless times. Do you think a day will come where somali people will leave the idea of qabiil behind, come together and see the fundamental ideas and beliefs they have in common and work together to creatte a stable state? Fight together in keeping peace, lean on each other when confronted by adversaries, work together to fight diseases, poverty and etcc.? or am I just dreaming?

Apperently they were driven back by the guards
Taliyaha Ciidanka Asluubta Soomaaliyeed Cabdi Maxamed Cusmaaciil ayaa ugu warbixiyay Ra’iisul Wasaaraha dhacdadii shaley ka dhacday Xabsigga.

“Mudane Ra’iisul Wasaare shalay waxaa xabsigga ka dhacay qaar ka tirsan maxaabiista ayaa isku dayday iney ka baxsadaan balse arrintaasi ma aysan suura gelin oo ciidanka ayaa ka hortagay in kastoo uu ku dhaawacmay mid ka mid ah ciidanka Asluubta”. Ayuu yiri.

Abdallah that is just damage control.

One report says that the prisoners refused to go back into their cells and that led guards firing, and it was resolved quickly

Another report says that prisoners got hold of guns and that led to a skirmish

Another report says that there was a attack but ended up in failure

Another report says that militia came, got the prisoners, with eyewitnesses saying they escaped

And shabab even went so far to claim they were behind it to free their mujahidiin

All that is certain is those marexaan prisoners will be free. News agencies were reporting yesterday that they will be let go and charges dropped today

Funniest part is if it wa something inside the prison, and nothing to do with the outside, why is the streets leading up to it closed, families can't deliver lunches, and more police presence?

I think there was an escape and to cover up for it, the so called prisoners will be released. We will see if there is footage of them being released or not.
