There`s degree in Beatles, the freaking band.
There`s someone i know, almost done with university (4th year student) and every time i try to remember what is studying,i never come up with an answer.
Unless one knows where they went there(with a goal in hand before ),the most degrees are just pillars.

Ah, yes. I agree.
University is for someone who wants to be a citable expert in that field, or aid in research projects. We need people like that, but it's important to understand the purpose of university before investing in it.

It didnt used to be like that and someone forgot to pass the memo to the younger generation.
I think the business and profit making part of the universities overtook the whole process.

No, it has little to do with the universities themselves. They are simply taking advantage of the ridiculous demand. The problem lies with the notion driven by society that without a university degree, one is guaranteed a life of poverty, and that with a degree one is guaranteed a career. High schools do not adequately address reality when it comes to higher education.

Engineering, Math and Science(Biochemistry, chemistry, physics etc)
Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing(other health professions Midwifery, Radiology etc)
Law, Economics, Business and Accounting
others are good, but these will not only land you a job, but are high paying and both the domestic and foreign demand is high.

Did'n't read the whole shyt but do they mention whether she has a minor in another field? She needs to search for jobs that match her degree elsewhere and relocate. Though not necessarily her fault, but a P.hD holder relying on well fare just subsist is indeed habaar.

I don't know why she's not working as a tour guide in Europe. With a Ph.D in medieval history, she could be doing an awesome job in a field she loves.

I don't know man. I guess she was trying to major in something beyond monitory value; perhaps something she 'loves' even if that field isn't in high demand. People gotta learn to reconcile the two ideas nd if not, then get as close as you can. Choosing one or the either will yield you failure.

The richest men and women in the world are neither engineers nor doctors. People who have studied economics and business are the ones that make it to the top. That is a reality that no one can deny!
