Any capture of Kismaayo cannot just be a capture and withdrawal. I don't think Ethiopia will follow through as any capture of Kismaayo will have to include a prolonged deployment until Shabab is totally and completely rooted out. We all know Shabab will just clear the way and hide once Ethiopia comes, so any capture will be useless until they are hunted down and completely dismantled. Perhaps they plan to capture Kismaayo to hand it over to AMISOM?

Eaglehawk are you forgetting al shabab's menacing foreign fighter contingent lead by godane and co? they can cause havoc from Marka and attempt to retake kismaayo. also remember that if kismaayo is taken al shabab will lose their pimary financial asset, i.e kismaayo port via charcoal trade. this will heavily weaken al shabab.

Grandpakhalif have you ever watched Wizard of Oz, do you remember the men behind the curtain character, well the foreign fighters and godane are like that, once you open the curtain (kismaayo) they will be lame duck and at mercy of the Somali mob and their organisation system can not oparate
