Turkey so far has proven that they are more than capable partners in the Somali political process, from tackling humanitarian issues to encouraging other nations to support Somalia, to providing much needed funding, education etc.

a couple of petty faction leaders can stay absent it is their choice, however this will not stop the rest of Somalis from sitting together and working things out with the help of our Turkish partners.

I think corrupt leaders like faroole and caalin are just bowing to ethiopian pressure and who cares if they dont come anyways,things will move on and any benefit from this conference is welcome.

Somaliland is going because the government of Turkey has made it clear to them that the government of Turkey will deal separately with the government of Somaliland.

To me it seems like Turkey has been bought by Siilaanyo and Shiikh Shariif's constituents since it seems with such statement they decided to completely bypass engaging sub-state political stakeholders like Puntland and Galmudug.

I'm not so sure if Turkey is serious about promoting real peace and stability anymore and I'm glad Farole and Calin didn't tag along; Somalia doesn't revolve around Mogadishu and Harigayso alone, this is a fragmented nation and as such Turkey needs to go back to the drawing board. Again I'm glad Farole and Calin took it upon themselves to bring Turkey's unfairness to light... little late but better then never.

I think it's great Puntland withdrew from it. Finally the two legit governments of former Somali republic(south and somaliland) can see each other and deal with special challenges facing both without being hindered/
