Actually thanks for informing me.. I'm the biggest anti-Israeli around!
I cant be contributing to their economy

A mate of mine actually makes her own Salt baths.. Not sure how effective it is, but she seems to swear by it.
I might give it a try..

She mixes half a cup of salt, some lavender and a drop of olive oil in her bath.. :|

Aishah - InshaaAllah I'll give the qasil iyo huruud a try..

#Ceeb ii tacal. I don't really 'boycott' israeli goods. My Dead Sea-Salt is from Israel too. To be honest I shop in Sainsbury, ASDA, M&S and most make-up and 'actual' products are 'owned' by jews, and you best believe they support them financially. So, it can become difficult avoiding them. I don't buy Israeli dates though, as I know they most likely took Palestinian farms by force or through dubious ways.

Ilahay haa noo sahalow waxa fiicaan.

Aisha, that sounds interesting, but I'm gonna have to pay Somali shops a visit in order to do that!

important beauty TIP: Drink 8 cups of water and take a multi-vitamin pill! Most black, asians and Muslim females that cover also lack in Vit-D. Go to the doctors and find out if you do. We often forget health is part of beauty. The last few days I looked and felt weird (I blacked out) I knew for sure that I'm lacking in Iron (anemic) and I hadn't been taking my Vit-D.

Westldnshawty,

I gave up when I saw crazy amount of 'jewish' owned businesses in the Middle-East and the fact that avoiding them is really difficult. Not to mention that they will get support anyways by Western countries (in the form of money). I don't know, inshaAllah I want to be less reliant on consumer brands anyways, like your friend I want to go down the 'DIY' route. We can make products easily now days.

What do you mean by 'peels'?

I know a bit about hard-core peels, I once visited a clinic in Liverpool Street that deals with this stuff. It is not good it is GREAT! Just be-careful black-skin is not the same as White skin. My friend also introduced me into this some time ago, she was treating bad acne, she used TCA (not good for black skin I later find out). The best help with these thing is Youtube! I would use something like Lactic Acid or Glycolic Acid (always start with low %) and use it for constantly for sometime. I would then stop once I see results. (follow the instructions ofcourse). It is really great with when you get a Sun-tan, restoring your skin to its original tone, spots, marks, scars, acne and etc. But you lot have to be VERY VERY careful, this is your face and if you damage it, you live with it. I cannot do heavy scale 'peels' as my Mum will freak out, she is forever watching what I put on, even make-up. She laments that I will ruin it, that I will look old and generally hates these stuff.

ps. Apparently people have been consuming Bath-Salt and is making them cannibalists in America. Several cases of people been bitten has been reported, I don't if it true or a hoax. :|

It is not the same thing.

This is just natural bath salts for skin and those others being abused are drugs created synthetically by druggies at home labs.Besides the name, they have nothing in common.

Has anyone tried Rhassoul before as a facial Mask? What was your process and results?

I tried it a mud Rhassoul a while back but I don't think I used it properly. My process was

1. moistened my face with water
2. placed the mud on my face and allowed to sit for about 10mins
3. and washed it off.

Tried it out for about a month and didn't see a difference. I might purchase it again but try a different method.

I went to a beauty salon in Kent last year and I tried the LA peel *25%*... My skin felt crazy smooth.. But I don't know whether I have the guts to try a home made one.. I'd probably mess it up.. But ruunti I like a little tan and I dont have Acne or any scars on my face.. So I dont need it as of now.. Maybe in 5-10 years..

I wouldn't recommend Glycolic peel for beginners a mate of mine tried it and it was way too harsh for her skin.. It pretty much messed up her skin for a wee bit.. :|

I  DIY also..
It's real easy to make your own lotions/soaps etc.. Plus you control exactly what goes in it..
I once made a Vit-c serum  I need more practice though..
Speaking of Vitamin C serum....

Another Beauty tip:
Take Vitamin C suppliments.. Iyo invest in a good Vitamin C serum or make your own.. The freshier the better.
Vitamin C serum has a few benefits for the skin.. When used regularly, the skin will slowly become healthier and appear more radiant.. .. Waliba it's needed to develop smooth and soft skin complexion!

I've been doing a lot of googling for skin care and DIY Vit-C Serum.

WestLdnShawty, Did you know about the different types of serums? So far I've come across the following

- L-ascorbic acid(LAA), ( there more natural powders like Camu Camu)
-magnesium ascorbyl phosphate(MAP),
-Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate(THDA)
-etc?(don't know. there might be more)

I am going to do more reading about these serums.I think i covered LAA and MAP still need learn more about THDA. OR maybe I am over complicating things. I just want the best product and easiest one to make.

Depends on the type of peel, the concentration, time you leave it on etc etc. Chemical peels when used correctly are generally harmless however the harsher acids, the higher the concentration and general bad practices, i.e.post peel sun-exposure, using creams with vit A derived acids/other acids or leaving the peel on for too long, not neutralizing so on, can make peels seem hardcore because all these factors increase the risk of serious skin damage.

Bottom line is you really need to know what you're doing.

(All of the above is especially true if you DIY peels/do them at home)

Also I really wouldn't recommend regular peels to anyone under the age of 30 or who doesn't have a pigmentation problem (acne scars). People who tend to are either major anti-aging fanatics or use peels for skin bleaching purposes.

I personally don't believe there many things out there that can make the hair significantly grow faster and fuller. I think the closest thing that can might increase the growth of your hair and make it thicker is keeping up with good nutrient.

I think there are methods to protect and retain length of your hair. The best methods I have experienced.
-low manipulation
-regular hair trims
-putting moisture back into your hair (sometimes protein as while)

this thread below might help. The ladies shared their hair regimens.

There might be ladies out there that have secrets in growing faster and fuller hair. Let's wait and see :D
