The evidence seems to agree with Eaglehawk.

This National Geographic article says the entire world was populated by a few hundred individuals who moved out of East Africa by crossing the Red Sea, likely at it's mouth. They reached Australia about 66k BC and began settling Europe about 50K BC. For sure, they passed through the Horn.
