I don't like the way Anderson Silva shoulder checked Sonnen, that's a pretty out of character move from him. It looks like Sonnen managed to get into his head and that's bad news, i'd hate to see this happen but i'm calling a Sonnen victory.

Chael Sonnen learnt a good lesson tonight: Don't piss off the best MMA fighter who ever lived, you dumb cracker.

I called it. To be honest, I think Chael knew the only chance he had to win against Silva is throwing him off his game by trying to get in his head. He wasn't gonna beat Silva physically so he tried to do it psychologically, but Silva's just as mentally tough as he is physically and kept it all in perspective (and even invited Sonnen over for a BBQ in the postfight interview

). In the end, the mind games didn't matter...Silva gets his 15th straight UFC victory and 10th straight title defense. What's more impressive than the fact that he's never lost a fight in the UFC is that he continues to defend that title against the top contenders, who themselves had to win enough fights in a row to get a shot at the Spider, so it's not like he's doing this against amateurs (even though he makes them look like ones).
There's nothing left for him at middleweight...he's beaten all the top contenders, some of them twice. He needs to put on 20 pounds and climb up to Light Heavyweight, and fight the only other fighter with a run as impressive as his in Jon Bones Jones (who's technically undefeated too). I hope Joe Silva, Dana White and the Fertitta brothers stop f-king with us and finally give us that superfight (if and when Bones beats Hendo).

Yung, you called it but I was surprised that it even went to two rounds knowing that how superior Anderson's striking is compare to Chael; he took the champ down and was busy worrying about not getting submitted than doing any fighting on the ground. I really wanted it to go longer so the Spider could do more damage that we don't get to hear that clown for sometime.
i've always said, only Jonh Bones can stop the Spider or has a chance to stop the Spider and nobody else, after he is done Jon is done with Dan's old slow ass then there is no more left in the lightheavyweight. The only that makes sense is Bones vs Silva, UFC has to make this fight before Anderson gets even older than he is now.

I thought about it and Sonnen's so explosive with that double-leg takedown that it would probably give him a round. But I knew once that happened and Silva tasted 2010 again, it was gonna be a wrap in the 2nd. It was actually that vicious knee to the body that was the beginning of the end for Sonnen even though Silva gave him a couple shots to the face for the official stoppage.
I agree, Jones vs Silva needs to happen....the thing is, back at that press conference with all the champions last year, Dana White said people were asking for that fight but it's too soon for Jon Jones cuz he needs to clean out the division like Anderson Silva did at middleweight. I don't get it tho, Bones has beaten Brandon Vera, Ryan Bader, Shogun, Machida, Rashad Evans, Rampage, and dominated Matt Hamill before the ref disqualified him...that's a who's who of former champs and contenders, so who else does he have to beat?! If he beats Dan Henderson, and then MAYBE a rematch with Shogun, there will be nothing left for him there and the UFC will be shitting on us of they don't give us Jones vs Silva (before he turns 40)
