That Zidane goal is really top class.

As for the Rivaldo goal, i still don't know the right word to describe it.

I have a friend of mine who watched the Barca, Valencia game with me 11 years ago and every time I show him the goal or mention it to him he asks me in a serious way if an angel whispered in my ear that night.

Here is a true story: as Frank De boer chipped the ball for Rivaldo and he chested the ball high in the air, that very moment he chested the ball high in the air (not as the ball was coming down and you see him line up for the overhead kick) the power went off and we all shouted "ohh fock" for different reasons. Him, because he was thinking he will miss the action @ the last minute and I was thinking, knowing Rivaldo all too well, I missed an overhead kick. So I told him Rivaldo was going to attempt overhead kick at that very moment but of course I never knew what the outcome will be. Half an hr later the guy calls me from his home after watching world sport on CNN and he starts shouting "walaahi you are the most genius guy I have ever seen, watch the sports news and see what your favorite has done, I cannot believe what I just saw"

The unfortunate thing is 2 of some of the most beautiful goals I have seen were scored on that same night. But who is going to remember them?

Finest individual sports performance of all time. And it is not like it just happened out of nowhere. The man was criticized so much in the build up to the last La Liga game of the season and in the press conference on the eve of the game walaahi he said he will do his talking on the pitch that night.

Zidane's goal is more beautiful as he had to strike a ball in the air from the first touch and score through the tightest angle.

like Zlatans goal Vs France last euro and Roben's goal vs man united 2010 CL semi final. those are amazing goals.
Very good analysis Mr. Tommy Smith. I think the ball was not in the air and the angle wasn't tight with the other goal and it looks like he was also facing the goal and inside of the 18 yard box.
Rivaldo had all the time in world for making that bicycle kick he chested the ball first.. its way more difficult to strike from the first touch as the timing must be precisely accurate and in accordance with the power. the following goals are easily better not only Zidane's goal.

Monday it is only Sunday brother, no need to start trolling early.

Obviously if you think that Robben goal is more beautiful and harder to hit than the Rivaldo goal you are a fan who watches the game but doesn't play. My 14 yr brother can volley the ball like that are you focking blind to think it is impossible to strike the ball with the first touch on a low and somewhat weak shot like that?

Any footballer, even the most skill-less professional football player I have ever seen Inzaghi will tell you it is harder to chest the ball to the exact same height he did (and making sure the ball doesn't go behind your head if your aiming for a finish like that) than that Robben Volley. I have seen better volleys from Roberto Carlos @ least show us those ones.

There was zero chance for a goal on tha play, zero what so ever. But with that first touch on the chest he created maybe 1% chance because 99% percent of the time no player can finish like that. But when you are Rivaldo and the clock is winding down and there is the opportunity to add your name to the immortals of the game that is all you need.

Every single rookie player including goal keepers can chest a ball like that, your statement shows that you're new in the football world and have no analytical skills. kulaha my 14 year bro can volley the ball like Roben  we're talking about a ball that was 40ft high upon delivery being kicked straight to the tightest angle of Vander Sar's net from a single touch and outside the box.

Rivaldo's goal is nice, but whats historic about it is the circumstances of that particular game. thats it.
