1:Farmaajo wasn't actually corrupt, but there was inconsistency in reporting by his team AS REPORTED BY ABDIWALI.

Notice Shareef Hassan owns shares in Somali passport making (that was given to Al Shabaab--I can see a charge coming if they perused this terrorist financing), money printing and laundering, loots aids, and misappropriates and embezzled funds since he was Finance Minister under Shermakee.

Sheikh Sharif embezzled money, used his clansmen and other parties to take advantage of international contracts, received bribes for TFG service, and channeled money through his office.

2: Faroole is a pirate kingpin and broke UN Security Council arms embargo, and received bribes for international contracts.

3: Abdiwali was bribed for tax exemption, took cuts from foreign aid, and used his office to privately disburse donated aid including which his office took off the record.

4: Farmaajo: nothing on him, nothing. Abdiwali claims Farmaajo mismanaged 3.5 million from 10 million given by UAE. But Farmaajo could not understand why Abdiwali made these claims and nor was the Central Bank able to confirm Abdiwali allegations.

since we are going about this the somali route were everyone claims everyone except his clansmen....here is my retort.

1: inconsistencies most often than not = corruption

2: even in the report there is nothing that says faroole embezzled money or mismanaged fund, it only says that he used foreign mercenary group and even then the report say that these mercenary group acted appropriately and that there was nothing wrong with what they did in Puntland rather, the fact they they were in puntland itself. as for arms every region tries to smuggle in arm somaliland get arms from Djibouti alshabaab from Eritrea, if PL didn't take steps they would be a sitting duck, I don't blame him for that since he is fighting pirates, terrorist and such.

3: there is nothing in the report that says abdiweli took bribes, it only states that 15 million was reported by the finance office while the bank claimed that only ten million was there (this was under faarmajos administration) abdiweli stated that the money was mismanaged and that the bank only received 10 million of which 3.5 million were mismanaged by the PM office (at that time faarmaajo) , the report states that he wanted tax exception for companies that provided services for the TGF it didn't say anything about these companies being linked to him.

4: farmaajo was the Pm when this report was conducted and many of the inconsistencies, and mismanagement claims come from his office and that of the two Sharifs, faarmajo , I will read the whole report tonight and create a thread talking about it later on.

Abdiwali is falsely accusing his predecessor of corruption, there is a difference between Abdiwali's baseless allegations and the monitoring groups audit. Abdiwalli could not even produce any evidence to back his claims and Farmaajo has not been interviewed by the monitoring group regarding this false allegation by Abdiwalli. As for Farmaajo, nothing has been said about him by the monitoring group, nothing at all.

1: every minister request tax exemption there is nothing inherently illegal about that, if the companies where proven to be his cronies that would be a different story, but that isnt the case.

2: there is no documented evidence showing abdiweli asking for aid money, but even for the sake of argument that was the case, there is nothing wrong with that in itself as well, if the funds were not mismanaged or used for personal reason, and there is no evidence suggesting that.

3: you have to remember that most of the evidence of the report were taken when faarmajo was Pm, so the top 3 offices would be that of faarmaajo sheik sharif and sakiin.

^^150 Million dollars? Sakiin just might be the richest Somali in the world, even though all his earnings are stolen funds.

Honestly though, corruption is world wide, even America corruption is not uncommon as it happens in every department. However in a country like Somalia, where people are barely recovering from famine and drought, it is absolutely unacceptable and all parties involved should be brought before the courts. That is if these allegations prove to be sound.

Somalis are corrupt by nature because our love for money trumps reason, deen and basic human decency, from welfare offices in the west, to schools to even "Somali community centers", all of them are some how rooted in fund mismanagement. Ilaahay hanoo gargaaro, amiin.
