Re: Chances of me going to a Uni in the Middle East
Well said PO, I guess i pulled a finger when i called it a brain-washing center, I don't mind going there but no doubt i'd fall into arguements when the salafis in the dorms,i hate the ignorance of interpreting the quran literally, and even the hadith, a sentence that comes out of the mouth of a prophet takes hours to de-bunk and interpret, but according to Salafis, what it says literally is what it means. My grandfathers were all Sufis as the traditional Somalis were, Us Sufis look up to the prophet and we still see him alive in our world as our prophet since theirs no prophets this ummah did not have a prophet for 1400 years which means the prophet muhammad is still our prophet and we are his ummah, this is why our deeds are shown to him everyday and if he sees something good he says Alhamdulilah and if he seens a sin he makes dua to Allah to forgive us, this is the Rahma of our prophet, yet some salafi sheikhs say its haram to intercede with the prophet but say its only allowed in Yawmul Qiyamah, what good is it when your times up? Wallahi dadkan who were known as Wahabis who know changed their name to Salafis were prophesiesed as people worse then Dajjal, taking kids under mosques and misleading them, a big fitna indeed.

It's not like a Shi'i will go to Islamic University of Medina to go learn what a Shi'i believes to be the correct interpretation of Islam.

All i know is the goverment of Saudi Arabia which eventually led to the establishment of the Medina Uni and the primary doctirne of the Saudi government is Salafism, is what went against the Khalifa and sided the brits and even helped the brits establish Jewish Isreal. I will never support such a state, i know when a sect like this did these type of things that its not a sect to follow. And LOL at how they always say "we are the only sect to enter jannah"

Why would you go to a ME university? All the woman are in black drabs and the hot, stifling weather will dehydrate you. Plus there's no weed there.

For educational reasons, and also the cost of living is cheaper there.grandpakhalif wrote:Why would you go to a ME university? All the woman are in black drabs and the hot, stifling weather will dehydrate you. Plus there's no weed there.![]()

I would've assumed you'd find the same ideology across most of the Khaleej. Unless you're planning on going to Yemen or Oman.

Hehe, you know what, I don't even know what a Khaleej is, I'm just trying to get into a post graduate or a under-graduate course on architecture and then i'll be off hopefully designing buildings in Somaliland.Alphanumeric wrote:I would've assumed you'd find the same ideology across most of the Khaleej. I'm also interested in archaeology and agriculture, the thought of seeing big green patches of farm land in a heated enviroment and date palm groves is great itself, i'm gonna plant a few trees and take a few soil samples when i go back home next year.

Re: Chances of me going to a Uni in the Middle East
I was trying to come at this issue in a objective way. As for believes, they are in most cases subjective. What could be defined by group A as shirk, could be defined by Group B as not shirk. So if you are a Salafi you will not view the Islamic University of Medina in the same way as a non Salafi. And this is what I was trying to show the likes of You and Bluenwhite why Ibn Subeer does not have the same reaction to studying in the IUM. Especially you, Executive, this does not disqualify him in anyway from learning Islam, just Salafi brand of Islam. And I mean by Salafi brand of Islam as opposed to Shia brand of Islam, Orthodox Islam (present before the Salafi Movement) generally known as Ahlul Sunnah Wa'l Jammah.Executive wrote:Perfect_Order wrote:The Saudi Religious Institutions do not have a pluralistic view to doctrinal views, in a liberal sense, as a matter of fact it is antithetical to their movement which is a reformist puritanical movement that sought to rid the innovations in the religion. "Khaleej" was a reference to the Arabian Peninsula. So, you're not going over their to study the deen?AbuukarSubeer wrote:Hehe, you know what, I don't even know what a Khaleej is, I'm just trying to get into a post graduate or a under-graduate course on architecture and then i'll be off hopefully designing buildings in Somaliland.Alphanumeric wrote:I would've assumed you'd find the same ideology across most of the Khaleej. I cannot say anything of their religious institutions if they are not run by an official View.

Abubaker trust me unless you go to lebanon or Egypt you will be wasting your time and money.
The lebanese are racist euro wanabees but their schools are world class, egypt is an excellent and welcoming place to live and their top universities are not too bad either, but you increases crime and instability.
Forget about the gulf its not an environment to study in.
