ottawacash wrote:ok how does Jibril abubakrs have so much power in this govt i mean foreign Minister , chief of

armed forces and many more i forget dont u think each habar awal clan should get 1 minister like thy have foreign minister information minister should go to Arap clan habar awals have 5 minister including the Money minsiter aka finance also 4 deputy thy have habar awals while hartis r excluded in from da decision making rite now Burco is da centre of decision making in

head of parliament should be hartis and minister of information

The army chief is not Jibbiel Abokor he is reer Samatar
Habar awal have only 5 Minister and the Army chief and the spokesmen of the government
The habar awal have no President no vice President no speaker of parliament no head of guurti
so its only fair 2 get 2 heavy Ministers in the government Foreign Minister and Finance Minister
The speaker of parliament is voted on in the parliament get the votes and u will be the speaker of parliament things are not just given in Somaliland u have to work for it

1. Isaaq 65%
2.Darood 18%
3.Dir 15%
What daaarood is bigger than gadabuursi and ciise in Somaliland i never knew that

Things might have changed. Today i think Dir are larger inside Somaliland since there has been immigrations. Case in point Awdal which is mostly Dir
is way more populated than Sool which is shared and Daroods are not the majority in Sanaag.

I think Booraame has a bigger population than laascaanood
Buhoodle might be bigger than Seylac population wise though
Should check the cities villages have no big population

In my young and naive days, when I lost hope in the south.
Siicid85 who do you support for president Cirro, Gaboose or Warancade. It seems like Gaboose has the most support within HY, Cirro having support of a wide range of SL clans.

Khalid Cali are you kidding me look at vast amount of land Dhulbahante and Warsangeli live and the amount villages we live, Samaroon are a big clan but Isaa are not exisistant in Somalia or Sl whatever you like to call Awdal. Our land is 3 times larger and more spreadout. Saylac is a ghost town no body lives there Buuhoodle has more population.
Those numbers that Siciid85 put up were in the 50's when Isaa still lived in Somaliland and were in fact larger than Samaroon within Somaliland at that time. But they migrated making Samaroon 90% of the awdal region.

ottawacash Tuur's vice president was Arap, the current chairman of Xaqsoor his VP is Harti. Can they produce much needed votes from their regions
though Arap plus Dhulos = 18% of Somaliland.
Khalid Ali last UNDP 2005 estimations for Awdal region was about 250,000 -300,000 while Sool was about 150,000.
garad13 i am leaning towards Wadani. So far they have proven to be effective organizing the candidates that will run for them (some of them influential
within their communities). What about you? Xaqsoor miyaa?

Garad abti you guys have big territory in Sool and south eastern togdheer and also parts of Sanaaag
But the cities are just a few Laasqoray is the only warsangali city and badhan , dhahar is very small
hadaaftimo xingalool and others are villages
Dhulbahante
Major city is laascaanood
and Buhoodle
And xudun
The rest are villages
Bocaame
yagoori
And the rest are villages
you have big territory but u have more villages than cities
Borama has a very big and population wise its huge ciise are not living in Somaliland any more , Gadabuursi moved into Seylac the past 3 decades
Big territory doesn't always mean big population
rwanda is one of the smallest countries in Africa but 12 Million inhabitants while rwanda is the size of Gabiley

Khalid is right you should look at the cities, most villages in somali standards have a population less than a few hunderd. Taasi socon mayso you should look at the bigger picture if you compare Laascaanod + Buuhoodle with Boorame I honestly think the Harti's have a bigger population if you compare them with the Dir population in Somaliland.

Of course Harti are largest between Dir and Harti in sland
If you deny this you deny Dhulbahante being larger than Gadabursi
All Dir In sland r gadabursi. not all harti in sland r dhullo. Dhullos live in waqooyi in sland. That's the only place they live. They aren't scattered throughout east africa

UNDP 2005 population estimation for Awdal and Sool. Although the UNDP estimations can be wrong, i will try to get records of the 1975 census in Somalia. That
way we will know. Truth be told there has been alot of immigration from Ethiopia/Djibouti to Somaliland before & after independence of Djibouti that could also have
contributed to the population boom of Awdal.

ottawacash i don't know what happened but it seems the Harti numbers in former British Somaliland have diminished.
Did you knew that a single district of Hargeysa the New Hargeisa district dominated by the Isaxaaq sub clan of HY is almost three times larger than the largest
center of commerce and activity of Dhulos aka Las Anod. Another fact for the day.
