My best friend of 30 years decided to go home. He left his white wife and some bastards are whispering falsehoods into her ear that Alkolo got married to a young woman in Somalia. Since she assumes that Alkolo and I have been friends and are allegedly relatives (we always acted like we were relatives) that I would have the scoop on his on goings. I know for a fact that I will not turn on my friend of 30 years, if Aideed and Siyaad couldn't make us enemies, I'd be damned that some woman or those no good Somalis snitches would. I told her I heard nothing and that those spreading those lies were just haters who wanted her marriage to end.

Words of advice to my brothers going back home, minimize the phone calls back to your friends/relatives. Assume nome de guerres and share little info when you are chilling in the old country: just be Mohamed from Nairobi not Mohamed from Leicester. Don't graze with relatives but find like minded people. If you do have the urge to get married, make it very confidential and don't marry relatives. A friend of mine got married to a gorgeous 18 year old woman and no one knows about it except me. They are very selfish, these stupid odayaal. One of uncles {60ish} married a young woman who was barely even twenty some years ago{ he was in his late 40s-early 50s I think}. The minute he brought her to the West, she told him ' War warqadeeyda isi, kuma rabee' lol he refused and tried to reason with her {he really loved her} but she was adamant in the end, he agreed and divorced her. She is now married to a man, she loves and is much closer to her in age. Islantiisii hore ayuu ku noqday. I love that uncle, he was so kind to us and all but serves him right.
