Its about 500 for all of them. If you just want the tablet without the Keyboard duck, then it's only 300. Got them from Ebay it's lot cheaper there.

Yeah go for one of the Transformer tablets, they have Android 4.1 Jellybean and not as much bloat as Samsung products. Wasn't the first Galaxy Note just a huge phone? This one seems like a more straight up tablet.

Thanks guys

I don't use laptops for much: Office package, putlocker and surfing. No gaming except spider solitaire, no downloading so space is not much of an issue

I want to access Email attachments, have presentations at hand, read pages of scanned books, easy and quick access to documents on my USB basically I want an office in my hand more work less play. I am slightly concerned because in the ads and from what I have read it seems like it was built more for artists, it has photoshop, you can draw, paint, look at recipes all the things that I wouldn't use and don't need.

I also have access to Laptops and PCs so typing long documents is not an issue though reading them would be essential and Excel and Skype would be a big plus. Am I expecting too much or is this obvious?

A tab can do all that and more. You can get the Nexus 7 for $200. Any android tab will do though as you can always put a custom rom like Cyanogenmod 10 for example.

Everything you mentioned a tablet and even q smartphone can do with ease. Everything in Android is done by an app so so to answer your question, yes they do come with it (Gmail, document viewers etc) but they are also apps. Also, there are apps for pretty much everything, and are more often than not free. Btw, I thought you had a Galaxy S3?

I am going to be getting one in a couple of months lakin the screen is still not big enough to comfortably read a book or a presentation. I am thinking if I got something which meant I could avoid printing stuff out and access the info I need and read it comfortably anywhere then that would be perfect lakin it has to be user friendly that is why I wouldn't go anywhere near an iPad. Would you recommend the Nexus to a 90yr old habar?

I would recommend it, but the screen size is a bit on the small size for you I'd imagine. But for the price, its great. Interestingly, i was watching this video earlier today, and it may give you a better view of the pros and cons.
