Yeah a gaal comes in here and insults a dead sheikh and we are harsh if we give her a warning? She should be banned for that.ElfRuler wrote:Shirib wrote:Amal Jaber,

Aren't you guys being too harsh on her.
Do you guys implement certain Islamic principles and ignore the rest?

There are plenty of Muslims who are insulting other Muslims on a daily basis on this forum, and quite honestly that is worst. Not to forget all the disgusting immorality certain people spread around. And no one blinks an eye.
Either you implement basic Islamic principles all the way through, or you leave it alone. There is no selectivity in Islam.

Common rule? Is it on the SomaliNet Forum Rules? Last time I read the thread, it wasn't on there. You would have to actually write that down to hold people accountable.
You can't tell people what they are allowed and not allowed to do. Especially, if they do not share the same principles as you do. I would never disrespect or bother talking about someone who has already met their Maker. However, the double standards are too much.

It's a common rule, really anyone who has been here long enough knows so. Sure we can tell them what to do, we make the rules. If they don't hold the same views, they're free to leave.ElfRuler wrote:Common rule? Is it on the SomaliNet Forum Rules? Last time I read the thread, it wasn't on there. So for anyone else who does not know, you're not allowed to insult dead Muslims, regardless of how bad you think he was.

If you see "things" that are worse then insulting dead people then report that post. Atleast those who insult each other is able to defend themselfes but you dont insult the dead. This is common sense.ElfRuler wrote:

As I said you can report your cases to the Mods and if you think mods are hars on the gaal for the warning for insulting a dead person then I must say your judgement is clouded.

Shirib, you're just going in circles now. Again, why don't you add it to the forum rules. You could make up any rules you want, but you can't make them up on the spot to give someone a "warning". It's common decency to implement a rule, after it has been established.
Besides, wasn't al-shaabab and other salafi groups the same people who were destroying graves of dead (Sheikhs) and what about those who supported their actions? Did you give them a warning as well!
P.S. This to forum rules have been broken several times on this thread ALONE!
.3. Insulting and flaming or personal attacks against forum members and staff will be not tolerated.

Re: Amal Jaber
ElfRuler it is a well known fact that people are not allowed to insult dead Muslims on this site, as a newbie you shouldn't argue with elders such as Shirib but instead strive to gain knowledge about the unwritten laws of Snet.

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) specifically forbade speaking ill of the dead.

Elfruler,
don't insult the dead, it's common courtesy, and anyone who has been here for sometime knows this! Call it an unwritten rule.
the digging up of graves in a completely different debate.
If it bothers you so much, report the post.

People constantly praise the killing of AMISON soldiers, even the ones that were dragged and mutilated by Al-Shabaab.
Listen sxb, Somalis do not shy away from praising the death of their opponents. I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy that the idiots who were shooting behind my grandmother's house are getting exactly what they deserve.
People are accusing the Sheikh of supporting Al-Shabaab who has brought numerous pain to many people. There is nothing insults could do to a dead person. Worry about the people who are alive that are being targeted by Al-Shabaab.
P.S. You can't report something when at times, you see certain Mods partaking in such threads. It's a lost cause.

sure you can, press the button if it really bothers you. Just try to not be petty.
Don't insult dead Muslims, regardless of how bad you think he is. This has been a common rule, it's not just to this sheikh, it goes for everyone.
