"The Peruvian Forensic Anthropology Team (EPAF), start tomorrow exhumations in Hargeisa, Somaliland, as part of a 5-year Agreement signed with the Somaliland government to undertake research on the fate of the victims of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearance of people occurred in past decades, as well as training in forensic investigations to staff of the War Crimes Commission and university students of biomedical sciences.

One of the suspects in the disappearance and murder is General Mohamed Ali Samantar, vice president and defense minister of Somalia from 1980 to 1986, and prime minister of Somalia between January 1987 and September 1990, until the fall of the military dictatorship General Mohamed Siad Barre. It is estimated that between 1970 and 1991, 60,000 civilians were extrajudicially executed. In 1991, Somaliland declared independence from Somalia since 2002 and is in a process of democratic transition.

The EPAF confirms and undertakes its work for the right to know the truth of the relatives of victims of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial executions and other crimes against humanity in Peru and the world."

This isn't what you think its, its the best move by somaliland regarding this issue, these mass graves at last are going to be ssettled once and for all, international expert will train somaliland forensic student for the next five years. Once each mass grave is examined , then these people will be buried properly by the state in special cemetries, the rest of the 300 graves that spread out throughout the rest of somaliland will be dealt by the students in the next five years. Each city then will bury its own people in state cemetries.
