Amal,

May I remind you of a favorite quote of mine from Proverbs (16:18):

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

No we have been very humble. No matter what we did, you always wished us EVIL. Just check your threads of 2008; And you guys (haters) - don't care to listen what we do. you'll always find a reason to wish us Evil.

So how arrogant have we been?

Amal,

Swing low sweet chariot, Swing low sweet chariot, Coming forth to carry me home,

I look over Jubba and what did I see,

A helicopter to carry me home,

Wakati nime kufa,

Kwa sababu ya uu fala ya Haji na Kibaki,

Mungu merema, pole Baba,

Nime fanya makosa,

Mungu, merema,

Nime ku sahwu,

Lakini sita wezi ku kumbuka,

Makosa yangu,

Amaljaber you seem like a smart individual so I want to ask you a question. What benefit does Kenya get from being in Somalia, other than place itself directly in the eye of the war between the west and Islam. Does Kenya wish to play the role of Pakistan for its western masters and as its not as strong militarily as Pakistan how do you see this ending for your country?

Skywalker,

1. Kenya did not go there at the behest of - in fact, they were surprised and did not expect it. We've just handed them a bill of $186m (excluding wear and tear) but they are not eager to pay.

2. Kenya went to war because of a number of things:

a.) it wanted a stable enviroment where the dadaab refugees can go to home, and open the NEP for development.
b.) To see the fulfilment of the lappset project (which the west is not happy about.) MRC is an organisation that has been created to scuttle LAPPSET. Recent arrests saw two belgians arrested. Funding is suspected to be from Sudan and Iran

Personally, i would have prefered working with the RAs-Kamboni, or making a unilateral decision to close the Dadaab camp. Demand that the IC set up a refugee camp WITHIN somalia in areas under the trusteeship of the UN.

In addition to this, set up a special unit to strengthen our border security as we support semi-autonomous regions like JB. Deploy our forces in Congo and convince them to join the EAC. Persornaly, i don't see anything that somalia has to offer. Congo is the REAL DEAL.

Kenyan troops are now under AMISOM. I don't see any major changes, except reinforce kenyan's support for KDF. Right now recent gallup polls showed KDF as the most trusted institution - more than religious institutions.

Militarily, lessons will be learned;

1.) The battles at Hosingow, Tabda, Miido and Capture of Kismayu will be discussed, analyzed, and taught at the National Defence College for years to come
2.) The East African Standby Brigade and the Neutral Force (DRC) wiill get a few lessons on joint ops
