No where in the whole Quran does Allah ordain the punishment for adultry whether married or not married to be stoning, this was a law that Allah sent down with Musa (as) in the Tawrat, the law was abbrogated, some may use the hadith where the prophet ordered someone to be stoned to death for adultry, this was ofcourse before the ayah for adultry was sent down, you should know that the prophet always used to follow the law of the tawrat before it being abbrogated with the new law of the quran which is much more generous and kinder than the more harder Tawrah.

If someone is caught doing zina, the biggest punishment is public-flogging, and even before that you need 3 or 4 witnesses to verify the incident if it occured or not.

I rarely believe Al-Shabab even do this, La ilaha ilala, the prophet said a group of muslims will emerge in Akhirul-Zaman who'll spread fitna, kill muslims and spare the idolators, how many muslims did Al-Shabab/Al-Qaeda kill compared to how many gaalo they killed?

stoning was practiced nto long after the prophet's death, there are sahih seerahs that show incidents of stoning approved by Umar bin Khattab

Do show!, because i know for sure that when you rule with Islam you rule with the Law of Allah and that is the quran , and no where does Allah decree the punishment of adultry to be stoning, nor does he make this distinction between married and un-married.

Show me these seerahs , and remember, when coming with a hadith or a seera of a khalifa that stands against the quran, you side with the quran, because hadiths are prone to mistakes whilst the Quran is undoubtly 100% free from error and is the total word of Allah (swt).

jowhar.com, a fairly reliable news source, is also reporting this; no real grounds to doubt this story.

This is a travesty on so many levels:

- For starters, the "wii qiratay" self-serving bullshit. Even if you follow the hyperliteral Hanbalist interpretation, you're supposed to have 4 reputable witness who witness the act of adultery taking place. They didn't, so an 'investigation' is conducted after which she conveniently confessed.

- This just another case of Sharia Theater, a masraxiyad designed to dupe the ignorant and the naive and carried out to perfection in places like KSA and Iran. "Look at how Islamic we are, we are implementing Sharia". Stoning a poor hapless woman from a impoverished village in a impoverished country suffering from decades of war, occupation, upheavels.......yeah, that's real sharia-y.

- Where's her side of the story? Where's qofkii difaaci lahaa? Oh wait, I forgot, legal representation is a gaalo-invented bidca.

Granpa & Abuukar, both of you are wrong. Stoning as well as other xudood(amputations, etc) were primarily a symbolic deterrent used only in extreme cases, and rarely at that. Given the various societal changes that have happened since, stoning, for example, is not an option today. If 4 Snetters swore that they saw either of you comitting adultrey, it's a wrap, you'll be stoned. Would you like that to happen to you in the name of 100% literalism and 'purity of the deen'?

With regard to gacan-goyn, Umar bin Khattab indefinitely suspended it during the Year of Famine, even though it is explicitly stated in the Quran to "faqdacoo aydiyahumaaa" Why? How? He used this little thing called reason and it's close cousin, common effin sense. And using those two tools, he reached the conclusion that, guess what, he won't be implementing the xudood indefinitely because it is the height of stupidity and insanity to implement xudood on people suffering from famine and drought. And by doing so, Umar completely dismantled the flimsy underpinnings of the Hanbalist/Literalist interpretation that is dominant across much of the Muslim world today. "Hey buddy, you stole because you were starving? No worries, I'll just take your right hand. Not my call, buddy. I'm just middle management, following the orders of Shaykh hebel hebel al-hebel. Yeah, I know, i know it sucks, but hey, look on the bright side, you'll still have your left hand. Cup half full, buddy. Chop-chop, now."

The curse of literalism over the past few decades is to blame for so many Muslims believing that chopping off heads and hands is a "caadiyoos" issue, as common and routine as wuduu and ghusl. We need to take the deen back from miskeen men who mean well but have their heads stuck in dogma(Is Allah on top of the throne literally, or metaphorically? centuries of debate ensues) while the Muslim world stays mired in poverty, disease, famine, and civil war.

If only they would devote their literalist approach towards science and technology that benefits and uplifts, instead of endlessly arguing about whether or not the niqab is waajib and which sect is Heaven-bound or Hell-bound.

Three or four cases is a lot in such a short period of time.

Why would the girl "admit"? No one believes that Al-Shataan can deliver a guilty plea without using a sledge-hammer and it's likes.

Sxb, Islam is quite simple. Don't spy on people, don't backbite, don't falsely accuse people, and don't give a false testimony.

No xalimo will be dumb enough to be caught by four witnesses who saw the whole account in a manner that did not violate her privacy. Allah knows best.

Who made Al-Shataan the Islamic authority of Somalia?

Elf,

I notice that you're fixated on Al-Shabab, as if they're the root of all evil. They're not. They've done plenty of good, but have crippled themselves and Somalia with their irrational ideology that emphasizes rituals and dogma to the exclusion of reason and logic. But that ideology didn't spring from a vacuum; it had to come from somewhere.

Are you willing to lay the blame on, say, the Saudi scholars who legitimize the bastardized application of Sharia(only on the poor, not on the rulers), who strip from women the mobility and independence granted to them by Ilaahay?

It's easy and politically correct to beat up on groups like Taliban and AS, but I'd like to see the same condemnation being hurled at the originators of that ideology in the first place.

There is a lot of wisdom behind things we don't see. Stoning an adulterer/adulteress happened very few times during the time of the Prophet because the rulings put in place made it very difficult for one to be caught in the act...4 witnesses plus testimony is a huge burden.

When I see these somali atrocities I feel the CUBANS must return to Somalia and put order once and for all.

Al Shabab and the somali terrorists are just cowards.

I would like to travel to Somalia and fight against Al Shabbab.

I'm not from Saudi Arabia and it's not the Saudis who are beheading Somali people to terrorize them, using them as human shields, and misusing and abusing Allah's sacred law to put the fear of Al-Shataan in the people and create an environment that doesn't even acknowledge basic human privacy and freedom. Their extremes irrespective of where they supposedly adopted it from should not be tolerated in Somalia.

Everyone knows of the corruption caused by the House of Saud.
