I was always suspicious of young SOmali males from overseas. I understand the concerns of their host governments after all of the extremist activity. The Somali government must also ask these Western governments and all other governments to send back supporters/sympathizers of Al Shabab back to Xamar for investigation and clearance.

Excuse me Why would you be suspicious about any young Somali that visits his homeland? Do you realize that every family didn't get the chanceto have all of their family members to be together? So many siblings, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins etc etc are still back home..It is not easy for them to visit Europe or the West in general so it is easier for those abroad to visit their homeland..Not only that sometimes the parents send their kids so they get aquainted with their roots..some go there to get married...


I have yet to see some Somali youngsters that sympathies with a terror group...

I don't understand why these intelligence agencies are discriminating against secular somali youth in favor of hiring these bearded lunatics. WTF

Other people's motherland are not a security threat to Britannia's welfare, they are just looking out for their own interests..i know it hurts that i probably can't see my country for the forthcoming years given this kind of situation, but then how can i blame the govt if i take the dumb and risky action of going back home and expecting to not be harrased when i return to the UK? So is it a crime now to visit Somalia?..I don't think that is fair. We know Somalia is a failed state and all kinds of crooks can take advantage otf the situation. Hopefully the elected government will clear the confusion.
But if there is a concern, can't the kids get their clearance before they visit Somalia?

All blame is on Al Shabab, who made it near impossible for Somalis to visit their homeland without arousing suspicion.

The govt will do everything to monitor and track the youth who go back home..but i agree there should be some freedom at least albeit restricted.

Look at this uncle tom. He got stripped off his citizenship and was sent to a jail and you are blaming it all on Shabab?. These kind of stuff happens all over the world and ever prior to Shabab. I remember in Sweden a couple of years ago 2 Egyptian born guys were taken from their house, flown in a CIA plane and sent to Egyptian jail where they were tortured. Who is the blame for that? Muslim Brotherhood perhaps? It took a couple of years to release them and they got small compensation, but still.

Wallahi I was reading this story in the paper today and thought the situation we are in was so sad. These 'people' let them enjoy the powers they think they possess they think they can eradicate Islam let them see who will save them on the day of reckoning.

All blame can't be put on Al Shabab. Alshabab would not exist if it wasn't for the warlords holding the people hostage. And the warlords would not existed if there was an actual functioning government providing safety and security to its people. The blame should be put on Al shabab, warlords, incompetent gov't, foreign interference, the civil war, dictatorship

Before Al Shabab, Somalia was not known for religious extremism, terrorism, there were no suicide bombings, no foreign troops, no CIA bases. Somalis were not suspected of anything if they decided to visit relatives there.

Alshabab = existed since 2006
Camp Lemonnier = existed since 2001
