Alpha,

Some coastal areas already have salinity issues with the water table, So flooding those areas wouldn't affect the environment. There are also areas along the coast that are barren and unsettled that could be tapped.

We are also blessed with vast underground rivers that could be tapped in drip irrigation thereby guaranteeing food security in rural areas.

Kambuli,

Khat meel kasto bu garay lakiin waxay ku xiiran tahay dhaqanka dadka meesha jooga. Aniga waxan soo maray tuulo yar oo qadka laga macuney. Ninki lagu qabta magaalada ba laga sara.

Cunaaye,

I met an American who was involved in one of the greatest studies of SOmali flora and grasslands called the National Rangeland Management study. They mapped territory between Gedo to Awdal and classified the vegetation and what it was used for and during which season. The most striking thing this man told me was how well the nomad elders managed the land. He said that they knew the weather cycles, when to move, and how to manage flock sizes. He also stated the greatest enivornmental disaster was the urbanization of environments not suited for permanent settles. The settling down of the nomads has been sparked by the development of boreholes all over territory that is not suited for permanent settlements.
