The African union is as useful as "nipples on a breast-plate" (as Tyrion Lannister would say). If the somalis were united and politically astute, they could form and dominate a block consisting of the Saharan countries (they have huge underground water resources and are sparsely populated) as well as the horn of Africa. This could only be done after the Ethiopians were neutralised.

We could call it the Saharan League.

I believe there should a Mediterranean union like organisation but for the Indian Ocean states and a Red sea states dialogue forum and indian ocean-Mediterranean sea cooperation council

African union makes no sense, I could understand in the 60s we all hat common objectives which wa decolonisation of Africa zoo continent but what relevance does it have today

I am tempted to advocate for us to relinquish our arab leaguge membership but my mind is telling me, it’s always good to have a friend with money.
I believe the sensible thing to do would be retain AU membership but undermine its political weight on the international scene and we should do that with the above mentioned institutions that I mentioned

Yes who else are going to help the uncivilised Zoomalis sort themselves out? They need AU without them there would have been no government nor any sort of peace.
