What is the purpose of this thread? To make fun of the dialect spoken in northern Somalia/Somaliland? Yet the majority of news anchors in all Somali channels use standard Somali which happen to be made up by atleast 85% of the northern Somali dialect.

Waryaa,

There is nothing as "Wadhyaa, wadhyee" every R is not interchangable with "dh"..so it is:

Waryaa or waaryee..

Eeyaahee is always used for older people and it is used for both genders :up:

I think the only time I heard the word eyahe was in a riwayad on utube/sangub.

mayle, does it look like that 2 u? it is purely educational - give and take. sometimes it is good to take off that defensive shield and see things from another angle.

i use many southern words... still luqada waa isku hal. it is how we say things that is different. accenka.....

I know alqaban and girgire.....but not sure the other two. did you spell them correcly.

afmaal dictionary tells me:

Mardabaan-mardabaan masculine noun: water jar, large vessel for storing water
Girgire-girgire masculine noun: charcoal stove

only word i know here...kaawiyad=iron (clothing)
