No, just think of it as a slow-clap from an 80s movie, someone had to get the ball rolling.

It is normal occurance,a sign of sleep deprivation or a screwed up sleep schedule.it happens to me from time to time but found a trick to overcome it,i just calm my self down and tell my self it is just sleep deprivation and go back to sleep till i wake up after 10 seconds.it has noting to do with jinni or devil.the scary thing is probably loss of body control you experience.

Bbz this kinda ish used to happen to me atleast twice a week. It's not sleep paralysis its a jin, it's holding you down and sometimes its a result of them struggling from trying to enter you but Allah isn't allowing it, since no jin is allowed to enter a body without the premission of Allah. So praise Allah and always read ayatul kursi in the morning, magrib time and before you go to sleep and always make sure your in a state of wudu or atleast sleep in a state of wudu. If you sleep in a state of wudu, two angels stand beside you while your sleeping so no jin is allowed to disturb your sleep. And if you read ayatul kursi in the night no jin or shaytan will come near you until the morning and if you read it in the morning they are not allowed to come near you until the night.
Don't believe in this sleep paralysis BS and don't believe these so called smart people on snet who would rather believe it's a scientifical thing instead of a jin, science doesn't believe in religion so of course it will deny the existence of jins and come up with excuses for everything, if you don't believe its a jin feel free to ask a knowledgeable person like a shayk, but prepare yourself for a scary awakening

I remember when it first happened to me a christian lady told me it was the devil trying to possess me and that I should go church and get exorcism done

Yes, because science has long since proven the existence of a soul.

I was shocked then when Sadeboi posted it couple of years back, and I'm still surprised that this happens to you guys commonly

... I'd suggest for you not to go sleep without your wudu'

Alxumaduillah, I don't think I've ever experienced sleep paralysis before. Not that I'm in any rush to experience it either.
Btw, Good info Alpha and Gatspy
