@Tuushi - Istunka was an age-old tradition that some claim went as far back as the Ajuuraan dynasty. Biyamaal were known warriors in the Shabelles and after harvest each year, their strongest warriors would gather in an open field & have a big stick fight. Some of the beatings stories would say were so severe that some of the young men would die from them, but during the actual fighting, a warrior did not show his pain. Did not even so much as flinch, let alone give a cry of pain. The young ladies would all be present of course and the winners would be more favored to marry these young women. Somalia is much more diverse than people think, specially in the South. Shiidle don't even speak just Maay, they have their own unique tongue. Then you have Tuni, Dabarre & Eeylo who all have their own languages, along with Baraawe folk. So much for "Soomaalida oo dhan waa isku luuqad!"
Ever heard of Muruqle?
