Let's say, the partner this guy or girl wants to marry is someone with a good character, deen, a hard-worker, all the good characteristics one would want in a spouse but a mother or father opposes it for a trivial thing, what would you say? That's it then, I am not gonna marry this person coz my parent is against it?
Depends on the "trivial thing".
"Good character, deen, blah blah" is meaningless when faced with real scenarios, and she turns out to be something far less admirable.
And what about if the one they agree with turns out to be "far less admirable"? Will I revoke their parenthood status since it's their fault their "chosen" isn't one then?

LOL @ combined modern WALAWEYN and WAHAABI!
Well, as things seem, next will be to have parents come in the bedroom the first night of their child's wedding to see how well she/she is performing.

What if she has herpes?
Those questions don't really do much in forming opinions. It depends on what is being picked out and focused on to make the case to call it quits - it depends on the "trivial thing".

Don't know how you got that from what I said. Besides, unless marriage spontaneously forms around my being, don't think I'd willing go for it.

What do you expect when you mix WALAWEYN, QALDAAN and WAHAABI not a good combination. RW the system is corrupted to the core, We need a complete reboot

Twist, LOL @ bedroom perfomance. im more inclined to rightwings philosophy i.e. keeping it schtum until the last minute, i have seen this work before, its puts huge pressure on the margie so she cant make thorough inspections.

I got from what the topic is about & your leaning towards mother's approval rather thing a guy/girl to make their own choice, awoowe.
And what do you exactly mean the second part of your statement? Mind to explain? By forming around your being, does that include parents having nothing to do with your choice as well, or it's more about you & your potential partner?

Yea, I would definitely say try to find out the reasons and then think about em. Laakin I know what You mean. Its freaky, Mothers have a way of being right even when they're wrong. Aniga My two cents is try to avoid one that Your Mom isn't into. You'll go into the marriage looking for every single little thing as a sign that 'Yup, My Mom was right' instead of giving the girl the benefit of the doubt and having a clean slate. You'll go in almost expecting something to go wrong.
99% of Mom's I see though, want whatever their kids want and if they don't the see what they think is a major issue with the girl.

If you refuse any girl over your hoyoo, it clearly means you love that girl over your mama.
Respect your hoyoo's wishes.
The lady that you were in the womb of for 9 months, breast fed you for the next 12 months, fed you for the next 2 decades and gave you shelter is the same lady you're going to say "no" to over some random broad that might leave you when you live in a society that experiences over 50% divorce rate.
I am sure we all know many examples of people whose mother refused them marry a certain guy or girl over a petty reason. May seem foolish but its the least you can do.

My mom told me simply not to marry any woman she is related to or the daughters of any of her friends.
