Absolutely disgusting thing to do....to murder young people who had nothing to do with politics....who worked hard for 6 years+ in chaos to do medicine.
Even Shabab knew they crossed the line with that one. They didn't want to take responsibility as it was a deeply unpopular act.

The thing is is that Al Shabab denied doing it and we know how much of attention whores they are. They would have claimed responsibility before the media would have even asked them the question

I think they spoke with two different tongues. It was initially claimed by the worldwide jihad/A Qaida faction but denied by other nationalist elements who didn't want to be tarnished with the same brush.
Furthermore, wasn't a suicide bombing by a young man in Denmark? AS are the only group that we know employs suicide bombers in Somalia. I doubt Abdi Qeybdiid or the Govt can convince someone to blow themselves up.

He was a young Somali guy from Copenhagen in his early 20s. He reportedly moved back to Somalia with his wife and toddler son to execute the plan. To this day, no one can locate the wife or son.
I think he was a lone wolf who sympathized with Shabab but was not directly involved with the organization. Or he was possibly kicked out of the group. I guess we will never really know the truth. He was a bastard though.
