Alshabaab is gone these people have caused nothing but misery to the Somali people with their fanatic and extremist ideology of plundering and their suicide bombings they are gone who will fill the vacuum most likely the African union peace keeping forces. The next troubles in Somalia will be about creating autonomous states by the various tribes and fighting over scarce resources? Using those states to get things done and to protect the interest of the the clan and some times the sub clan and using external forces to keep other clans at bay this comes with the notion of tribal federalism. And to get leverage from the federal government whats next simply Mogadishu has lots of potential it will continue to have a construction boom, and their biggest challenge will be security and i think the current government in Somalia will focus on the security of Xamar. Other than that as long as there are 17.000 African union forces the long term problems as well as the short term problems will not be solved and creating federal states with African union as the main security force will also not bear fruit but people will try because Somalidu waxbay qasabte eeh waxma xaliso. All in All nafta kheyr halo sheego as long as the alshabaab terrorists are gone Somalia is a much better place long live.

guys, aside from emotions and what we want to happen, events in our recent history clearly predict shabab's downfall.

shirib/prince, here's the problem: no1 gets defeated in Somali politis. You get chased out, comeback, regroup and strike when the time is right. There thousands of guys who were part of all the groups mentioned above. A good example is Indhacade. He was in the military (siad barre gov), independent warlord, ICU affiliate, Hisbul-Islam (shabab twin), chased by shababs, surrendered to Sheik Sharif, got a post in the army, and finally, he was sitting beside the new president when the new ministers were being announced. The man is still young too and he can join or start another armed group anytime. It is not only him - the whole nation is like that.

We are on a revolving wheel - same ppl different groups.
