They can fund it now because of the the piracy.

How else were they supposed to afford the hotels? LOL!

Now look at this vista on the Gawaan Escarpment 25km clear view down across the Hobyo plains to the ocean. Cool breeze, cool temperature and a vista to die for

I would think twice before going to hobyo beach. That place is the site of illegal nuclear waste dumps starting in the early 90's, profited by Ali Mahdi. Some of the locals, have contacted some crazy illnesses, and a lot of children die from it.

Skippa,

I am amazed at how we don't use renewable energies in Djibouti and Somalia. So much opportunities in wind, geothermal, and solar ! Djibouti can be self sufficient just on geothermal energy but its not being exploited :mindblown:

Completely beautiful.

P.S. I hope Somalia does not invest heavily on "tourism". That is the worst sector to build your economy on. Quite profitable, however, the workforce needed is one that is docile and not highly educated. They are easily disposable as well.

Besides, I can't stand the sight of any Somali citizen catering to some gaal who's walking around practically naked thinking his spare change will buy us some dinner.

agree, but tourism won't be popular in any Muslim nation. Westerners tried it many times but it never happy, they always do it to poor Carribean islands.

but nobody is saying make it a tourism happy for foriegns, but make is a vacation spot for Somali westerners, and wealth African/Muslim ppl.

:mindblown: Horta don´t skinnies know how to plant palm trees on the beach. The beach would look so exotic and beautiful with coconut palms. It´s not difficul and you dont have to irrigate them, because coconut palms can take salty sea water and use it without problem. Somalis so underachieving.
