Why was Hassan Sheikh silent on this matter?

From what I can make out....Somalia is gonna be like a piece of meat, carved up by foreign powers.
Of course you will have your local elites who will grow rich, while the rest of the country gets shit all.
He is silent on it because he will take what he can before his term ends.

He lives on foreign aid and not even loans which are possible, this just shows that they're sucking up the oil and the aid is a cover for these lies.

Who cares anyway, even if became the UAE in oil riches, Somalis will still have extremist ideologies and will still be barbaric.

Hopefully the people who are suffering the most can get some livelihood, other than that one will not be visiting Somalia anytime soon nor is any of the diaspora.

The British may send some military trainers/advisors, but thats all.

Hassan Sheikh mention clearly that the Somali reconstruction will be primarily through the private sector.
This is code for, "my financial backers and friends will be given lucrative contracts".

The chair of the Q&A session mentioned in closing, that Somalia possessed extraordinary natural resources.

If that happens there will be a revolution. Do you really think Somalis will sit silent while their resources are stolen by former colonialist disguised as ''the helping hand'' in these rough and tough times. We will do what we do best, destroy everyone and everything.

well if thats the most likely scenario, it will eventually lead to renewed conflict.
Most folk are aware that there are no free lunches in this world, although some choose to be blind.

Why was he talking about food aid and donors.....surely Somalia has the limited capacity to import agricultural equipment.
Renovating irrigation networks etc is a more efficient use of scarce funds than importing weapons.

If you let the NGO industry in to run all the public services, the country will have a dependency culture built in.

Well Somalia has arable land from Gabiley in the north to the plantations in central and south Somalia, however if our policy isn't self-sufficiency in all fields, we will be dependant and dictated to by the same people that want to exploit us but hide their agendas through humanitarian aid etc.

What may be planned is to lift the arms embargo so the Govt can build a strong army, not to defend the country, but to guarantee the economic interests of foreign powers.
I think it will become increasingly clear in the coming months and years, the real reason for the foreign intervention.

I know Somalis like to think of themselves as unique within the universe, but it helps our understanding if we examine the other recent interventions.
Take Mali & Afghanistan as examples. Both interventions were sold as fighting Islamic extremism, but we now know both countries possess vast untapped resources.
