it won`t be removed......maybe eased so the Govt can get some AKs and bullets, thats all.

The gov have no problems getting bullets and AK. This is not the reason for lifting the ban or easing it for that matter. The gov has heavy weaponry in mind. Tanks etc. These weapons are needed to replace Amisom. And countinue to fight alshabab.

My friend......don`t you realise.......AMISOM will be in Somalia, in one guise or another, for a generation.
The arms embargo and AMISOM are inextricably linked, they are two sides of the same coin.

The international community have taken no real significant steps to rebuild the Somali army.
They know better than most, that Somalia is a clan fractured society. An army dominated by a single clan will not bring stability.
Furthermore, Somalis can be better controlled by AMISOM generals and UN envoys.

Mark my words...."There will be no lifting of the arms embargo". :som:

Who says heavy weaponry, carefully concealed in the middle of hundreds of containers, isn't finding its way in the Port of Kismayo as we speak?
