This Jubbaland conference was suppose to have a President by now, and set up his administration, but there has litterly been only one day of the conferecnce, and all the delegates have not even arrived. Does that mean, shabab have the green light to storm the city? No, and neither will the end of this conference. There is no Jubbaland to destabilize, because alshabab controls most of it. Are you thinking that Kismaayo will be destablized?

Ras Kambooni needs to disband and merge into the government troops. Then the troops need to wage new offensives and campaigns against Alshabab, with administrations being set up as new land is liberated.
caqli reer galgaduud.
do you think we are in sh hoose where hawiye macenaries are using the govt to terrorise its locals?

just say your real intentions stop beating around the bush.
so far as I know the gedo forces have been claimming they will capture Bardhere for the past 5 yrs.
The problem is Marexan ranks have been heavily infiltrated by AS and were targetting KDF soilders. When Kismaayo was liberated it was another thing all together.

PO you keep disappointing me dude! AS still has presence in hamar and does more damage in hamar why doent the federal government remove them entirely?

Why do you want clan militias to be integrated into the national army? That is deliberate planning for failure because a militia member whose first loyalty lies with his tribe can never represent the nation. They will disintegrate as fast as they have integrated.

Moreover since when does the national army consist of a collection of militias? This is crazy! They need to set up recruiting camps across the nation and select capable individuals.

I am speechless that this plan came directly from the government. This is just indicative of how inexperienced and clueless they are. :mindblown:

Patriot,

You think Ogaden are not Alshabab? Did you forget that your sweet hero Ahmed madoobe was alshabab, until he was kicked out by them? Yes, there are alshabab that are Marexaan, but alshabab consists of every clan. And the only way to defeat them is with a force consisting of every clan. RasKambooni, the ogaden militia can not secure the land by it'self, and Kenya is not beholden to them. Either they will integrate, disband, or be forced from their positions. The age of jabhads is over.

Meta,

Terrorists attacks, and sleeper cells does not mean alshabab controls mogadishu. Just like terrorist attacks in Kismaayo, like recently, attempts, doesn't Alshabab is in control of Mogadishu. Militarily they can not take Kismaayo or Mogadishu, to stop terrorist attacks is going to take a long slow process.

Now for militias integrating into the army is a very normal process that countless countries have followed. It provides you with battle experienced men, who have weopens to fight. But eventually they will be phased out by regular, trained, disciplined troops. The govt is starting already on that, with creating military bases outside of cities, and training from nations like turkey.

But if we reject militias, like raskambooni, should we allow them to just exist? Or should we integrate them, train them, give them salaries, and incentives not to be bandits?

Perfect_Order wrote:Colonel, you said the prime minister or the government would take part in the Jubbaland conference, and that is false. They have outright rejected it, and instead want to use that harnessed energy for a "reconciliation conference" and to create a 6-month administration.
Where did I make such a claim?
I said PM Shirdon has now acknowledged the conference and is currently in talks with Sheikh Ahmed Madoobe. That's quite a step after calling the whole process unconstitutional and ignoring it for months, now that the FG understands that the people of the region are behind Jubbaland they have been forced to end their hostile attitude towards the JB admin.

As Patriot said, either way the governor will be Sheikh Ahmed Madoobe. Even the FG knows that there is no other man in the region with such influence.
