aligaab, paranoia? i think i am the 1st one who brought in religion into this conversation and I did not mention somalis, let alone reconciliation. u need to think out of the box and comprehend what is written without swinging at an anti-sland ghost in the dark

When I said Muslim nations, I meant real nations like Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

If religion and somalinmo is not a good reason than what is left ???
Wait, you hope to become like Bahrain, Qatar without the oil at best. Nothing more than a base. Is this the best you can hope for?

It would be nice if there wasn't borders/countries but the reality is that there are. Somalis have the choice to deal with what they have or go against the world.

Sorry, I know this topic was directed at enlightened sista..
But it's not working. I know this is a simplistic view but divorcing might help everyone move forward.

Not saying is going to be easy. To be honest most of the time I don't blame somaliland for wanting to separate, somalis are a hateful people but we should try our out most. We can only pray for now.

you know what is funny, the somali government has failed to unite south somalia and yet somaliland is always on top of their minds.
It was a failed union so we went our own way, no religion and culture isn't enough. Somaliland is much better off managing their own affairs.

I wonder cida ay soo diran doonaan in somaliland la qabsado.
Ileen we all know they are incapable.
You people need to stop thinking of a people who want nothing to do with you.
Think of your priorities like the 10000 + Bantu troops roaming your lands.

abdi, I learnt long ago that the majority of walanweyns are envious of our peace and stability - fair enough with the jebertis hating on us because it's in their DNA but what the excuse for the hawiye and xurufles (emperior's word

)

It is perfectly understandable, who'd want anything to do with Somalia? It's a mess. When it was peaceful and prosperous, for decades and decades there were no murmurings of 'secession' etc. Isaaqs lived in Mogadhishu, studied in its universities ..etcetc. My Dad talks fondly of his time traversing across Somalia going to places like Mogadishu ,Marka Cadeey etc. It's only recently when Somalia's fallen on hard times that people don't want anything to do with it. I really don't blame them.
I don't think the solution is to isolate yourself, create tribal enclaves and call it a country...citing how it's peaceful ..well of course you will get along {not always as the recent deadly riots and previous interIsaaq wars has shown}.
