Walleh bantu are a noble bunch. Some of the older bantus still remember my maternal grandfather who they used to work for on some of the plantations he supervised in Jilib ilaa iyo Jamaame. They used to call him afar indood. How I wish to have lived in Somalia during those times.

it is called Baar, and it produces "Qoono" that turns red when it is ripe, about the size of a fist. Its found from mustaxiil to near mahadaay along the Shabele river.

You must understand the whole slavery thing isn't necessary. They are hard working people. They do the hardest things for the bare minimum just like mexicans in america. Reer gooleed are truly blessed. My mother used to tell me how she would eat fresh mangoes, papayas, bananas, etc. everyday. All she had to do was walk outside. Guess who cultivated it, reer gooleed. Mashallah.

Nomand, baar trees grow alongside all the rivers in Somalia. The city of Baardheere got the name from this tree.
